What's On Your Work Desk..(WOYWW #180 I think...?)

I unfortunately missed the eclipse of the sun this morning, but I don't think I'd have seen much here in Melbourne anyway and it did only last 2 minutes and 5 seconds!
The best viewing advantage would have been in Queensland's tropical northeast. It was the region's first total solar eclipse in 1,300 years and thousands of visitors have flocked to the region booking everything from hot air balloons to dive boats to watch the phenomenon.

But one other phenomenon I wasn't going to miss today is the WOYWW (What's on your Work Desk).
I've been AWOL for a few weeks on holiday ~ I know terrible isn't it?
But it's about time I settled back down now and return to my normal routine. Normal 'ha' who am I kinding?
I haven't much to show on my desk this week because I've been trying to catch up on all the exciting domestic chores! Don't you just love them? :$
Although having said that I did manage to start a silk painting...of a sunset
You can just see it standing against the wall.

The studio is finally the same temperature as the rest of the house so it's easy to just walk in and pick up a paintbrush or pen...so there's no excuse now ;D

Well that's it for this week. Julia our lovely host of WOYWW at Stamping Ground will be pleased it's such a short post!
Hop over there using the link above to see what everyone else is up to...I'm sure there's going to be lots of Christmassy ideas and creations!
Eek! I can't believe it's only 6 weeks to go.
I've only just come off my summer holidays and could do with 6 months!

Thanks for stopping by...I really appreciate your time...
It's great to see you and I hope you're having a fantastic week so far whatever you're up to.
Catch up again soon https://secure.quebles.com/content/hotmail/emoticons/1511763.gif

I think I've got a Christmas panic just bubbling under the skin.
I feel I should be doing some xmassy designs :$

I watched the eclipse on the news...not quite the same but what can you do?

I'm on my visits today, so pop that kettle on my little chickadee :D

The table is actually two kitchen tables pushed together. Thankfully the room is a great size to fit them and everything else in.

It's great to see you again...it feels like its been years.
I hope your week is going well with lots of creativity. I'll be over soon to see what you've been up to. ;D

I'm thinking I should be creating Christmassy things but still have my summer holiday head on so there's not much happening.

So what have you been up to...guess I'll nip across to check it out ;D

It is starting to get really chilly here. We went from 80 degrees on Saturday to 41 today...brrrrr...I don't like winter at all. Thanks for sharing and have a great week. Vickie #63

    1. Hi Vickie,
Great to see you again ;D
Thanks for your lovely comments. Silk painting can really produce vibrant colours and I suppose that's what I like about it, especially after the black and white line drawings.

It is lovely to just walk into the studio and not have a chill run over me. I really don't like anything below 16°C but then I do like winter as long as I have a heat source nearby! I know I'm strange.

Stay cosy and I'll pop and visit you to see what's been keeping you busy lately. :D
      Enjoy WOYWW!

I'll have to plan for next Christmas now and just relax into this one ;D
      Sounds good to me anyway!

  11. Yep, you swan around New Zealand for EVAH and we turn on the Christmas for ya! No pressure! Your studio looks so welcoming and the light is awesome..so need some of that southern hemisphere stuff right now. We have friends at Mission Beach who report an epic eclipse. It went dark. You missed nothing!

As if we didn't have long enough away...dare I tell you that we are heading to Canada for the Christmas holidays! I'm wondering how we will go from an Aussie summer (although it hasn't really arrived here in Melbourne yet...I'm still cold) to a Canadian winter with heaven knows how many minusessssss! :$

I had to look up where Mission Beach was located. It sounds fantastic...So when are you coming over??? ;D
It's great to see all the gang again so thanks for your continued dedication to the WOYWW.

  12. Hello lovely! No desk from me today but wanted to pop by and say Hello anyway. Your silk painting is stunning! Wow. So glad you had a fab time away, I enjoyed nosing at your pictures. I'm off on a mini break this weekend, I'm going to meet up with my fellow Crafty Boots DT on Saturday but cos I can't cope with travelling up and back in one day me and my friend Debs are going Friday and coming back Sunday! I haven't had a holiday this year as I couldn't afford it due to sorting Keagan's bedroom, new carpet and furniture the lot, expensive! So this break will be fab, away from everyone. As much as I love my boy and mum and dad I see them every day so it's nice to get away and be Zoe, not mum or daughter. Hope that makes sense! Right I've got my coffee so I'm off to snoop some more! Take care. Zo xx

Keagan's a very lucky chap by the sounds of it....but then he does do such a good job of looking after you.
It seems silly to say enjoy yourself because I know you will. :D

Thanks for your lovely comments...silk painting is perfect for giving vibrancy to a painting.

  15. Hi Neesie - You have done a fab job with the silk paints. I love to see a wonderful sunset. What are you making - a wall hanging or something else I wonder? I have only once seen an eclipse and I remember it cast a very strange light indeed. Happy WOYWW to you from Helen 30

    1. Hi Helen,
Well I didn't quite finish the job before I posted it. It's difficult to revisit once the silk has dried but if I'm feeling brave enough I may try. It might give an interesting effect...there again it might ruin it...we'll see ;D
I saw an eclipse once too when living in Brunei. We where on the beach watching and it went eerily like night. I hear birds can fall asleep or fly into buildings when it occurs. Poor things!

Have fun with WOYWW and I plan to visit later today. See you then :D
