My Sunday Photo....Cathedral Cove, New Zealand

As the temperature dips and winter approaches I find myself dreaming of sandy beaches, pure crystal clear blue water, warm sunshine, stunning skies and scenery.
My mind wanders back to fantastic holidays whilst living in Australia... one particular favourite was when we visited New Zealand.
We made two separate trips... one to the North Island... and one to the South Island.
(If you'd like to see more of our New Zealand adventures then type New Zealand in my search box in my side bar of this blog. You'll see lot's of posts about our trips to both Islands
Te Whanganui-A-Hei Marine Reserve as it is known in Maori or Cathedral Cove as we knew it is located on the Coromandel Peninsula of the North Island and is accessible only on foot, boat or kayak.
It's a magnificent beach.
Thanks for joining me for a little flash back photo.
I'm going to link up with the Sunday Photo gang over at Darren's place if you'd like to see lots more photographs.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone

  2. Ah, this takes me back. Coromandel was one of the first places we went to when we were travelling around NZ. Beautiful beaches and scenery - and the best fish & chips we've ever had.

I didn't plan to post an old sunny photo but I came across them and couldn't resist.

    1. Isn't it just Sherry,
I would love to revisit, but it's such a long way from here that I'm not sure I'll ever take that trip. It was so easy from when we lived in Melbourne. That's why we went to both the North and South Island.
If you do go then I'll be keen to see your photo's.

    1. There are so many amazing beaches like this one, but I particularly like this one because of it's limited access. We walked down so many steps from the clifftop, then under that cathedral arch to reach the beach. It was very special.

    1. In the freezing air Zena,
We only managed 6 degrees today, so it's not surprising we're dreaming.
I'm consoling myself with the fact that when we get to 21st next month, then the lighter nights are coming our way! Woohoo!

    1. I hope you are feeling okay Sandy,
A bright but very chilly day here today... only 5 degrees Celsius (which I think is around 41 degrees Fahrenheit) No wonder we're dreaming about beaches, sun and sand!
Have a great week whatever your weather is... enjoy!
